Manager, Marketing Technology

Position Overview:
SmartBug’s Marketing Technology Manager role leads the execution of marketing technology (MarTech) initiatives across both client services and sales teams. SmartBug’s agency MarTech stack has been curated to complement its service offerings, amplify SmartBug’s own demand generation and brand marketing efforts, support client goals, and drive consistent revenue growth for the organization. 

The day-to-day:

  • Work closely with SmartBug’s Chief Revenue Officer to initially benchmark both MarTech partner commission revenue and upsell/out-of-scope services revenue.
  • Works collaboratively with Client Services leadership to develop new service offerings around MarTech solutions, ensuring services are properly scoped, documented, and that relevant sales and delivery team members are trained.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly MarTech partner commission revenue goals through dedicated sales and marketing efforts, both internally and externally for existing and incoming clients.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for active MarTech partners, meeting regularly with account managers to maintain relationships, keep shared initiatives on track, and identify potential blockers that might prohibit our joint success.
  • Collaborate with relevant client owners (ie, Inbound Marketing Managers, Project Managers, Sales Executives) to deliver MarTech recommendations where appropriate.
  • Manage internal training initiatives involving MarTech partners such as Certification Day, open office hours, and internal live chat inquiries
  • Register relevant leads and deals with MarTech partners via their respective platforms and processes; follow up with partners and SmartBug’s finance team to ensure all commissions owed to SmartBug are processed appropriately.
  • Practice your craft by contributing to SmartBug Media’s marketing efforts each month which may include blogging (including guest blogging for MarTech partners), webinar hosting and/or a panelist role, and/or the creation of more premium content.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Experience and Education Required:

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship is required
  • 3+ years experience with digital marketing and marketing technology
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot required
  • Hands-on experience with any of the following platforms preferred: CallRail, Marketo, RollWorks, Terminus, Vidyard, and others
  • B.A. or B.S. degree preferred but not required
  • Passion for digital marketing with a strong understanding of inbound and digital marketing
  • Desire to learn on your own and keep up with inbound marketing and marketing technology developments and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
